Should I Consider Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty is ideal for just about any patient who is feeling that their nose does not contribute to an attractive and pleasing sense of facial harmony in the ways they feel it should. This might be something that you’ve noticed with age, or you may have always felt that you would look better with a different nose. You may wish for a nose that is larger and stronger, or you may feel that your nose is already disproportionately larger. Whatever your cosmetic goals may be, Dr. Porter has the experience and training to work with you and make them a reality.

When you visit Dr. Porter for your consultation, she’ll learn about your cosmetic goals and help you explore the various surgical options that are available to you. She’ll help you understand the possibilities and limitations that come with rhinoplasty surgery, giving you a clear idea of what you can expect before, during, and after your procedure.

The Rhinoplasty Experience

Your rhinoplasty surgery will be performed while you are under general anesthesia. It should take between one and three hours to complete, depending on the specifics of your customized treatment plan and the extent of changes in which you are interested. Before your surgery, Dr. Porter will explain the technique she’ll be using to create your results.

After your surgery, you’ll be able to return home on the same day, but you’ll need a friend to drive you while the anesthesia wears off. You’ll need to rest at home for about a week before you’re able to return to work and other light activities. Your swelling should mostly resolve after about six weeks, at which point you’ll be able to appreciate your final outcome.

We’ll be sure to provide you with detailed aftercare instructions and a clear timeline that helps you understand exactly what to expect from the recovery period. We’ll also be available to you at all times and will schedule follow-up appointments that help us ensure that you’re healing comfortably and as speedily as possible.
