Benefits of MicroLaserPeel

The MicroLaserPeel skin treatment is offered by Chevy Chase Facial Plastic Surgery in the Washington D.C. area as an alternative to other skin resurfacing techniques such as chemical peels and microdermabrasion. MicroLaserPeel involves removing the damaged surface layer of skin so that the epidermis can generate a new top layer. The skin produced after a resurfacing procedure is tighter and has less sun damage, scarring, and fine lines that the former skin exhibited. Dr. Jennifer Parker Porter performs laser skin treatment procedures that focus on eliminating fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, and general sun damage from the face’s problem areas such as the skin around the eyes, mouth, and forehead.

MicroLaserPeel is a wonderful treatment for lighter skin types. It works at a more superficial level than traditional laser resurfacing treatments. We use the Zimmer chiller for these treatments to cool the skin during the procedure. After the treatment is over you may feel as though you have a light sunburn. Further cooling and application of the Alastin Skin Nectar helps with rapid healing. Makeup can be worn 2 – 4 days after treatment and will depend on how aggressive you would like the treatment to be.

What is the Difference Between MicroLaserPeel and NanoLaserPeel?

MicroLaserPeel is performed anywhere from 10 microns or deeper. NanoLaserPeel treatments are more shallow, with the deepest being 10 microns and the most superficial being 4 microns. MicroLaserPeel will require more healing but will also yield quicker results with fewer treatments. Use of a medical grade skin care line after the treatment helps to preserve your investment in your skin.

What Procedures Can Be Combined With MicroLaserPeel?

BBL is the perfect treatment to accelerate improvement of fine lines and reduce the freckling seen with sun damage. Performing MicroLaserPeel immediately after the BBL treatment helps to accelerate the results. The two treatments work synergistically to improve the tone and texture of the skin. In this case 1 + 1 =3! Addition of plasma to the surface of the skin accelerates healing of the skin and added stimulation of collagen.
We also combine the treatment with the Aerolase Neo which helps to stimulate collagen and tighten pores. The Aerolase Neo treatment is performed prior to the MicroLaserPeel.
