So many patients are into the “quick fix” these days. While a face lift is the gold standard for rejuvenation of the lower face and neck, many are unable to take the time off of work and their daily schedules to embark on these procedures. The so called quick fix skin tightening options abound. Some of the treatments are performed in series or need to be repeated to maintain the result.  Chevy Chase Facial Plastic Surgery has a variety of options designed to turn back the hands of time.

One of the best procedures is the Time Machine Procedure®. This procedure has little down time in exchange for powerful results. An in office procedure, the Time Machine Procedure incorporates a combination of cutting edge technologies to improve skin texture and firm up the skin. Patients with acne scars, wrinkles and enlarged pores and scars can benefit from the treatment. Most often the treatment is performed on the face, neck and décolleté. It can also be performed on scars or stretch marks on other areas of the body. Depending on the condition being treated some patients may need several treatments.

Another one of our favorites that has been histologically shown to improve skin texture and tone through the years is the Forever Young BBL™ treatment. This treatment is a fotofacial(BBL) treatment combined with SkinTyte™ to make the skin in the area treated look younger as the patient ages. The treatments are typically performed 3-4 times a year, less often in the younger patient population. The number of treatments are determined the degree of sun damage and the age of the patient. Continued use of the appropriate skin care products is encouraged for best results.

The Viora Reaction® treatment can be performed alone or combined with PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma). The combination of the two helps to stimulate collagen and tighten skin. The treatment has minimal downtime – only a windburn look the day of the procedure which resolves overnight. Improved texture of the skin and tightening after a series of treatments is the result. With these treatments the collagen is stimulated in three ways: with the bipolar radiofrequency machine, microneedling collagen induction therapy and PRP injections and application through microneedling.  The PRP has been proven to stimulate collagen in the skin.

Last up, Thermage® is a treatment option that has been around for the past decade.  While not all patients see substantial benefit, those that do will see continued improvement with successive treatments.  We have some patients that come every 1 to 2 years for a repeat treatment and they have not aged during a time period when the aging should be rapid.

Consultation with Dr. Jennifer Parker Porter can determine which of these treatments may be best suited for you based on your skin type and your concerns. Frequently these treatments are performed in conjunction with other procedures such as Botox®, fillers and chemical peels.  Making everything look slightly better and natural is the goal.
