Jennifer Parker Porter, MD : A Personal History

Jennifer Parker Porter, MD is a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and also the medical director of Chevy Chase Facial Plastic Surgery, LLC (CCFPS). Additionally, Dr. Porter is a Clinical Associate Professor at Georgetown University Medical Center serving as a teaching member of their Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.  Dr. Porter is certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, (ABFPRS) and the American Board of Otolaryngology. She has also served as a guest oral board examiner for the ABFPRS and has been selected by the board to write exam questions.

Dr. Porter, a native of Washington, D.C., completed her undergraduate studies at Brown University and was awarded a full tuition merit scholarship to attend Duke University School of Medicine. After completing her residency in otolaryngology at Baylor College of Medicine, she was able to train with internationally renowned facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons Dr. M. Eugene Tardy, Jr. and Dr. Dean M. Toriumi. Subsequently, Dr. Porter was recruited to return to Baylor College of Medicine as an assistant professor, to lead the Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training for the residency program in the Bobby R. Alford Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Communicative Sciences.  While at Baylor she successfully established the Baylor Facial Plastic Surgery Center prior to her return to the Washington, D.C., area.

A leading expert in facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Porter's contributions to the field earned her a research grant from the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Jennifer Parker Porter, MD has also been appointed to multiple faculty positions within the American Academy of Otolaryngology and the American Board of Otolaryngology (ABO). Additionally, she completed a three-year term writing board questions for the ABO. Dr. Porter is currently serving the community by sitting on the Western Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Board, a position she was appointed to by the Montgomery County Executive, Doug Duncan.

Dr. Porter is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She has published a number of book chapters and journal articles, and has served as guest editor for several journals because of her acknowledged medical expertise as a facial plastic surgeon.
